The Malaysia Healthcare Travel Council (MHTC) has been crowned the leading travel council in the Asia Pacific (APAC) region, receiving the “2016 Frost & Sullivan Asia Pacific Travel Council of the Year – Medical Tourism” award at the 2016 Asia Pacific Healthcare & Medical Tourism Awards Gala.
The Malaysian healthcare travel industry proves its mettle yet again with its second consecutive sweep of awards at the IMTJ Medical Travel Awards 2016, hosted by the International Medical Travel Journal (IMTJ) in Madrid today. Malaysia Healthcare leads the pack with winning the prestigious “Health and Medical Tourism: Destination of the Year”. The win marks the second consecutive year Malaysia Healthcare is recognized as a healthcare travel destination of excellence, having won the “Medical Travel Destination of the Year” title at the same awards in 2015.
Malaysia Healthcare Travel Council (MHTC) and GD Assist Limited (GD Assist) are jointly organizing health consultation sessions by renowned specialists from Malaysia throughout the year 2016.The first session was by Dr. Ambikai Balan Sothinathan, consultant of urologist from Pantai Hospital, Malaysia.
Malaysia is looking at new markets for medical tourism, and domestic medical tourism is top of the list. New focus for MHTC is to create awareness among local residents and promote domestic healthcare travel.
