Assistant Manager – Informatics

We are looking for a Informatics Assistant Manager to join us. If you are a forward-thinking leader who thrives on leveraging data analytics to drive strategic decisions, this is the perfect opportunity for you.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the Informatics Unit and bring together various types of industry information and data trends to develop strategic options as input and recommendation to top management.
  • Responsible for managing informatics project from conception to implementation, ensuring successful delivery within scope, budget and timeline.
  • Identify and develop business models and revenue streams related to informatics.
  • Responsibilities include engagement with stakeholders and potential collaborators, development of the project brief and methodology, implementation of the project plan, analysis and preparation of report.
  • Support the operational matters of Informatics Unit including:
    1. management of data in MHTC’s data management system and dashboard (MHTIS)
    2. internal and external data requests
    3. identify opportunities for research collaboration with universities and academic institutions.
    4. engagement with stakeholders such as PIK, DOSM, Tourism Malaysia, MOTAC, Immigration etc
    5. liaise with internal department and relevant parties in analysing data trends to identify opportunities and spot risks.
    6. support for projects within the organisation
    7. support administrative matters for the Unit
  • Undertake other duties which may be appropriate within the areas of responsibility.
  • Scale up reporting frequency, in providing data-driven decision support.
  • Leverage on data to improve resource utilization and transform the way the organization collaborates and makes decisions – in business, markets and opportunities.
  • Build on big data collection and analytics capabilities to uncover customer, product, and operational insights.
  • Project-based data analytics, provides value creation, solutions to strategic planning problems.
  • Develop analytics models and insights for stakeholders to drive efficiency or revenue.
  • Participate in the development of data monetization opportunities.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Hold a Degree in Business Management, Mathematics or and/or similar/related fields
  • At least 5 years of working experience in data management field or fields related to market research / analytics
  • Strong command of both written and spoken English.
  • Additional Skills:
    1. Competent in using MS Excel and MS PowerPoint
    2. Familiar with statistical software, MS Power BI, MS SQL, SPSS, SAS, etc.
    3. Familiar with statistical analysis and knowledge in research methodology both qualitative & quantitative
    4. Strong command of both written and spoken English
    5. Honest and trustworthy, exhibiting high degree of integrity
    6. Able to work effectively in a diverse team, maintaining good working relationships

Executive- Strategic Planning

We are looking for a Strategic Planning Executive to join us. Responsibilities:

The position undertakes the scope of work as guided in full scope below, fit to requirement, as and when needed to perform during the contract period.

  • Strategy: To contribute to the strategy planning and implementation process. He/she needs to synthesise crucial pieces of information such as industry developments, innovations, markets, competitors etc., from various internal and external sources to develop strategic options and manage projects effectively. This information will also serve as input for the regular strategy reviews by Management and business leads in the organisation. In this capacity, he/she is responsible to support all related strategic planning and projects across the organization.
  • Project Management: Responsible for the industry development key initiatives and project planning process; ensuring its execution across the organisation. He/she is equipped with knowledge of and experience working with project and portfolio management methodologies He/she manages the development of project plans and budgets by playing a lead role in all the planning and budgeting activities required by the project deliverables. In this position, he/she establishes and reviews project or initiatives strategic priorities and translates them into actionable plans. Alongside the strategy management, he/she supports the strategic planning process to ensure that this process is timely, focused, and value adding. He/she also ensures that the strategy planning process highlights issues and gaps, making certain that these issues are thoughtfully addressed by the laid-out plans.
  • Performance Management: Responsible to support management and development of the project's KPI and, to facilitate analysis and reporting of performance against plans and budgets as well as strategic objectives. He/she manages the development of regular performance reports for timely decision making as well as facilitating cross-functional involvement.
  • Risk Management: Supports the development of scenarios for the mitigation of possible risks and provides recommendations for the management of these scenarios. He/she, in this capacity, is responsible for the timely risk's mitigation plans for the Management decision making.
  • Analytics: Undertakes an analytical role where he/she shall manage analyses that will provide valuable benchmarking for Corporate Strategy Department as well as timely insights to various other departments, under the guidance of the reporting Manager/ Senior Manager. This includes analysing industry or market trends for the purpose of providing recommendations about the healthcare travel industry ecosystem opportunities.
  • Collaboration: Highly collaborative and shall diligently work with the team in setting the direction of the project and building alignment with internal teams in developing a clear roadmap. He/she works with the key stakeholders to attain project goal and develop a strategy for the business's direction from the gathered insights.
  • Other Duties: Performs similar duties as he/she deems fit for the proper execution of the duties and duties as delegated by the relevant senior manager and leadership.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accountancy, Strategic Management, Business Administration, or any other related business and project management field. An equivalent of the same in working experience is also acceptable for the position.
  • 3-5 years of working experience in strategy planning, project management position within a fast-paced and dynamic business environment, preferably in healthcare and hospitality industry.
  • Strong command of both written and spoken English, Bahasa Malaysia.
  • Additional skills:
    1. Communication Skills: Strong communicator, both verbally and in written form. This also includes good presentation skills. He/she must have the ability to clearly convey information and instructions, which will determine the effectiveness with which strategies are executed across the organisation and ultimately determine whether the business achieves its goals and objectives.
    2. Analytical Skills: Demonstrates exceptionally good analytical skills, an ability to translate raw information into actionable strategies and initiatives. He/she will have a demonstrated ability to perform standard analyses such as performance analyses, competitive analyses, market analyses, etc.
    3. Interpersonal Skills: Demonstrates strong attention to detail, have high-energy and a proactive nature, have a positive can¬ do attitude, be result-driven, have exceptional problem-solving skills, and work comfortably in a group/collaborative setting. He/she must also work comfortably with business executives and leadership including key stakeholders in private and public sectors, have an ability to multitask and meet aggressive deadlines.
    4. Integrity: Quality of having strong ethics to perform to the best of ability and act on principles. Honest and trustworthy, exhibiting high degree of integrity.
    5. Ms Office: Demonstrates proficiency in the use of Ms Word, Ms Excel, and PowerPoint, which will be necessary for the creation of both visually and verbally engaging analyses reports and presentations, for the Management and various agencies.

  • Candidate is required to be fluent in speaking, reading and writing in Mandarin and Cantonese due to the needs of this position. Strong command of English and Malay.
  • Team player with good interpersonal and project implementation skill
  • Adaptability, agility, and positive working attitude toward your daily task.
  • Commendable communication, public speaking, and analytical skills
  • Familiar with Ms Office particularly in Excel and Power Point
  • Knowledge of digital marketing in China would be a strong advantage
