MTMA 2023 Judges

MTMA 2023 was joined by an esteemed panel of industry leaders and experts. The well-established judging panel will be unlike no other, as each judges is an expert in their own areas.

Professor Dr Kiranjit Kaur

(MHTC Chief Judge)

Kiranjit Kaur is a professor in Universiti Teknologi MARA with 38 years of experience in media and public relations education, research, training and consultancy. As a certified ICF-ASTH coach, IPRM Fellow and Accredited Public Relations member, and a Council member of the Malaysian Communication and Multimedia Content Forum, she appreciates the power of a disciplined media to create an informed and responsible society. Kiranjit carries forward her late father’s maxim: “with sound education and integrity, one stands second to none.”

Ainul Rhyshikin Binti Yusoff

Docmummy, a practising doctor and passionate breastfeeding advocate on social media, received the prestigious Best Medical Travel Influencer award in 2021. In addition to content creation, Docmummy serves as the Assistant Secretary at Medtweetmy, an NGO dedicated to sharing medical information on social media. Currently pursuing a master's in Medical Education, Docmummy is committed to positively impacting healthcare, particularly in promoting breastfeeding.

Chris Seto

As an industry leader in the media intelligence and monitoring sector, Chris showcases an exceptional depth of expertise that has significantly influenced and elevated the media industry. With his extensive knowledge and insightful contributions, he continues to shape and innovate within this dynamic field.

Cristian Rahadiansyah

After working fulltime as journalist for 19 years, including 14 years for three different travel magazines, Cristian has decided to pursue his career as a freelance journalist/writer, while managing the Melek Huruf public library, near the Borobudur temple in Indonesia. He has written and edited 10 books, and regularly gives talks in various tourism forums. In 2019, he co-founded the Jakarta International Photo Festival (JIPFest).

Dr Izzal Asnira Zolkepli

Dr Izzal Asnira Zolkepli is an Associate Professor at Universiti Sains Malaysia. She has been recognized with the prestigious Malaysian Research Star Award (MRSA) for her contributions to the research field. With a doctorate in marketing, her expertise lies in the realm of social media behaviour. Drawing from 10 years of academic and consulting experience in digital marketing communication, Dr Izzal brings a wealth of knowledge to her role. Her six years of industry experience, including work in advertising and corporate communication further enriched her insights. Committed to guiding the industry through the ever-evolving digital media landscape, she embraces the challenge of fostering critical thinking and human skills.

Hanizah Mohd Hamzah

Hanizah is currently Head of Television at Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union (ABU), Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, since 2006. Her role involves interacting with other professionals both in international and domestic media organizations. She has travelled extensively in the course of her work to ABU member countries. She has been Consultant for numerous media related festivals which include the ABU TV Song Festival, ABU Song Contest, ABU international Dance Festival, Guangzhou Documentary (GZDOC), Busan Documentary Festival, Tokyod0cs, Tokyo International Drama Festival and the Prix Jeunesse Children TV Festival Germany to name a few.

Ilan Geva

Ilan Geva is a renowned global branding and consumer behavior expert, author, speaker, and university professor. Co-author of "Global Brand Management" and contributor to international healthcare publications, he serves diverse clients, including health ministries, chambers of commerce, and hospital organizations. With over 100 industry awards, Ilan is on several company boards and advisory boards. He has taught at the University of Chicago and DePaul University, currently instructs at Loyola University Chicago and the Center for Medical Tourism Research - UIW in San Antonio. A member of the Healthcare Standards Institute Journal's editorial board, he leverages his extensive international experience to help clients strengthen their brands globally.

M. Jegathesan

M. Jegathesan, a seasoned journalist with nearly 30 years in the media industry, is currently a senior correspondent for Agence France-Presse (AFP) in Kuala Lumpur. Starting his career with Malaysia's Bernama News Agency in 1994, he joined AFP in 1997. Specialising in Malaysian news, Jegathesan's extensive experience also includes reporting on major events in Southeast Asia and globally. His coverage spans Malaysian politics, from the terms of prime ministers Mahathir Mohamad and Najib Razak to Anwar Ibrahim's ascent to power. He has delved into the impact of the 1997-1998 Asian financial crisis and the 2008 global economic meltdown on Malaysia. Beyond borders, Jegathesan reported on ASEAN Summits, the aftermath of the 2004 Indian Ocean tsunami in Indonesia, and the 2005 Bali bombing.
