Medical tourism has grown rapidly in the past decade, as Internet has greatly facilitated information sharing. A 2013 online survey from US reported that 27% of patients had engaged in some form of medical tourism.
International patients may not receive the necessary information they need to make care decisions, according to an article published in the Journal of Medical Internet Research.
