BANGKOK, 18 MAY – The Malaysia Healthcare Travel Council (MHTC) has been crowned the leading travel council in the Asia Pacific (APAC) region, receiving the “2016 Frost & Sullivan Asia Pacific Travel Council of the Year – Medical Tourism” award at the 2016 Asia Pacific Healthcare & Medical Tourism Awards Gala.
“Frost & Sullivan is pleased to present this award to MHTC, in acknowledgement of their relentless efforts in providing excellence in service, and in recognition of the Council’s outstanding performance as a coordinating agency for healthcare travel in the Asia Pacific region throughout 2015,” commented Rhenu Bhuller, Partner and Senior Vice President for Transformational Health, Asia Pacific at Frost & Sullivan.
As a coordinating agency, Malaysia Healthcare Travel Council strives to facilitate the focused development of the healthcare travel sector in Malaysia, which includes building strategic public-private partnerships domestically and abroad, in a bid to create increasingly easier access to Malaysian healthcare for international patients.
The award proves further testament to the agency’s success at building bridges within international healthcare travel, adding on to its long list of accolades, which includes “Medical Travel Destination of the Year” by the International Medical Travel Journal’s (IMTJ) 2015 Medical Travel Awards, “Best Country in the World for Healthcare” by International Living’s Global Retirement Index 2014-2016 and “Public Private Partnership Medical Travel Destination of the Year” at the 8th Annual World Medical Tourism & Global Healthcare Congress.
