31 MARCH 2017: Malaysia Healthcare takes part in the 7th Congress of the Asia Pacific Initiative on Reproduction (ASPIRE) 2017, that is officiated by her Royal Highness, The Crown Princess Azizah Aminah Maimunah Iskandar of Pahang.
ASPIRE, founded in 2001, to improve knowledge and awareness of Assisted Reproductive Technology (ART), and infertility-related services, with the ultimate aim of improving the quality of patient care.
Malaysia is recognised as the preferred destination for healthcare, with ART being the most sought after treatment, where Malaysia records a 65% success rate for its In-Vitro Fertilisation (IVF) treatments, compared to the global average rate of 50%.
Malaysia’s medical tourism industry continues to grow year by year due to the quality, accessibility and affordability of private healthcare facilities in the country. This coupled with the seamless, end-to-end patient service offered, guarantees peace of mind to healthcare travellers. In 2016, the industry grew by 25%, raking in an estimated RM1.15 billion in hospital revenues.
Other treatments also in demand are in the fields of cardiology, neurology, orthopedics, general healthcare screening and aesthetics (dental and cosmetic surgery). Malaysia also caters to a high number of international patients in urology, oncology and gastroenterology.
Healthcare professionals in Malaysia are highly qualified, receiving medical training from renowned institutions in Malaysia, the UK, USA, Australia and Europe. Malaysia also enacts stringent regulations and standards for safety and quality healthcare set by its Ministry of Health (MOH), benchmarked against the highest standards in the world. To top it off, it is easy for travellers to communicate with health professionals here, where English, Bahasa Malaysia, Bahasa Indonesia and several Chinese and Tamil dialects such as Mandarin, Cantonese, Hokien, Tamil, Bengali, Hindi are widely spoken.
Malaysia is attracting more and more healthcare travellers from around the world especially from countries like China, Vietnam, Indonesia, Myanmar and India for ART. Hence, healthcare facilities in Malaysia offering ART are aiming to make Malaysia the preferred destination for fertility treatment.
The commitment towards providing exemplary healthcare services, has led Malaysia Healthcare to launch the “Malaysia Loves You” campaign in 2016, with the theme “Experience Malaysia Healthcare, Embrace Malaysian Hospitality”. The success of that campaign was reflected in the RM1.15 billion in revenues recorded from the medical bills of foreigners seeking medical treatment in Malaysian private hospitals.
Riding on the crest of this success, the campaign continues into 2017 with a new clarion call, “Share My Love”. Spreading the word that Malaysians are truly warm and friendly, we extend our love and hospitality to anyone and everyone, to come and experience Malaysia’s excellent healthcare and indulge in our warm hospitality.
