Malaysia Healthcare Seals New Partnerships In Indonesia

JAKARTA, 30 MARCH – The Malaysia Healthcare Travel Council (MHTC) or better known as Malaysia Healthcare signed an exclusive Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with five strategic Indonesian partners at the JW Marriott Jakarta in a bid to enhance Malaysia’s end-to-end service offering.

Being the largest healthcare traveller group flocking in to Malaysia, Malaysia Healthcare wants a more strategic approach in providing a seamless service for its neighbouring friends seeking treatment in the country.

Through these five strategic partners from the banking, insurance, third party administrators, and travel companies from Indonesia, Malaysia Healthcare is optimistic in covering 3 separate industries to:

  • Enhance access to Malaysian healthcare services to Indonesia, and
  • To bring the intrinsic value in these services closer to its citizens.

En. Wan Mohd Khalid bin Wan Kamal, Minister-Counsellor from the Embassy of Malaysia in Jakarta to Indonesia, graced the ceremony and witnessed the MoU exchange. Also in attendance were, Ms. Sherene Azli, Malaysia Healthcare’s Chief Executive Officer, representatives from the five signing parties here being: Golden Rama Tours and Travel, Antavaya Leisure, PT AdMedika, I’m Care 177, and CIMB Niaga Bank.

We are delighted to be able to establish these partnerships. Our aim is to identify the right partners who share our ideals and vision of delivering quality healthcare globally at an affordable rate and which is easily accessible. Together with our Indonesian strategic partners, our focus is committed to ensuring deliverance of excellent patient care, comfort, safety, access to good service and sharing in what we believe, ‘Quality Care for Peace of Mind’,” commented Sherene Azli, CEO of the Malaysia Healthcare.

The first signing is with Golden Rama and Antavaya Leisure, two leading travel agencies in Indonesia. The consistency in their services makes them the perfect strategic partner for MHTC.

Concluding the signing with “PT AdMedika” and “I’m Care 177”, will provide cashless treatment options to around 4.4 million insurance policy holders when seeking treatment at Malaysia Healthcare’s member hospitals.

Malaysia Healthcare also signed with CIMB Niaga Bank, the fifth largest bank in Indonesia. With the signing with CIMB Niaga Bank (5th largest bank in Indonesia), two new programmes were launched, “The Corporate Health Programme” aimed at increasing the market volume and “The Platinum Visa Infinite Programme” (PVI Programme) targeted to improve patient spending.

Healthcare travel is one of the fastest growing industries in Malaysia today. Reflecting this healthcare efficiency is International Living’s rating of Malaysia as the “Best Country in the World for Healthcare” in their Annual Global Retirement Index from 2015 – 2017. Malaysia was also awarded as the “Medical Travel Destination of the Year” by the International Medical Travel Journal (IMTJ) for 2 consecutive years in a row (2015 & 2016).

To further position Malaysia as the leading healthcare travel destination, Malaysia Healthcare recently launched the “Share My Love” campaign spreading awareness about coming to the country to experience Malaysia Healthcare and to embrace the Malaysian hospitality.

Malaysia Healthcare recently unveiled “Share My Love”, a continuation of the “Malaysia Loves You” campaign, launched last year. “Share My Love” carries a message of love, unity and kindness, inviting all to come and experience Malaysia’s excellent healthcare and indulge in our famed Malaysian hospitality. “This concept encompasses the essence of Malaysia’s healthcare, which provides great care, compassion and warmth at the same time. It is this very love and welcoming spirit that we hope to convey to all who come to our shores”, added Sherene.

#sharemylove aims to highlight Malaysia’s most unique qualities as a healthcare travel destination of choice. More details can be obtained at
