CEO's Message

Assalamualaikum and warm greetings from Malaysia Healthcare.

Just like that, the second quarter has breezed past us! Malaysia Healthcare has been exploring creative ways to increase our presence in our neighbouring countries and it has been a wonderful experience in the process. We have been building our presence in Brunei, Myanmar, Indonesia, Vietnam and Nepal through various activities. On a joyous note, the 2019 Asia Pacific Healthcare and Medical Tourism Awards took place recently where Malaysia Healthcare took home 19 awards! Additionally, Dato’ Dr. Jacob Thomas was honoured wth the Lifetime Achievement Award whereas I was humbled to be honoured as Most Media Savvy Personality (Woman).

While this did come off as a surprise, it does reflect on how powerful social media is and how it can be used to bring about positive change to the world. Malaysia Healthcare is stepping onto that road with a mission to bring more awareness to how we take care of ourselves.

We often take our access to good healthcare services for granted, especially since we live in a country where healthcare is made readily available, affordable with quality benchmarked against international standards. With statistics telling us that globally 63% of deaths are due to non-communicable diseases, and their occurrences can be decreased through early detection and lifestyle changes (Source: WHO), it’s time we used all our resources to make this a reality and save lives.

On that note, Malaysia Healthcare proudly presents the Share My Experience (SMX) campaign. This social media driven campaign encourages everyone to take a step towards a healthier lifestyle with one small change at a time! The change can be simple such as, drinking more water daily or increasing your step count. As you practice this daily, you will start to see the positive impact on your life as the #sharemyXperience campaign spreads a wave health awareness and self-love to everyone! Sign up for our Insider 2020 to find out more.

In the long run, we hope that people from around the world will get with the programme and make a change in their lives to get better access to quality healthcare. This leads up to 2020, where we are looking forward to greeting healthcare travellers eager to change their lifestyles for the better! We are extending our arms to all who want to make a healthier lifestyle change to come Experience Malaysia Healthcare during Malaysia Year of Healthcare Travel 2020!

The next quarter is going to get more exciting with all the events to come. In August, we will be awarding the first winners of the Medical Travel Media Awards (MTMA)! If you have missed out on MTMA 2019, fret not. MTMA 2020 is coming soon! So put your fingers to keyboard, begin writing your next article on Malaysia Healthcare and stand a chance to be our 2020 winners.

insigHT, the region's leading medical travel market intelligence conference, will be happening at Four Seasons Hotel Kuala Lumpur on 24th and 25th September 2019 with the theme, 'Differentiation for Excellence'. Be sure to get your tickets before we sell out completely!

As we keep moving forward, I hope that we progress together keeping the spirit of unity in our hearts and our vision for the industry clear in our minds. Onwards to the next quarter!

#MHMenangSamaSama

Thank you.
