Malaysia Healthcare Chronicles

The Prime Minister of Malaysia recently announced the implementation of the Recovery Movement Controlled Order (RMCO) that is in effect from 10 June 2020 until 31 August 2020.  With the number of reported cases at a decline and an encouraging ascent in recovery cases, Malaysians can now breathe a sigh of relief as the  COVID-19 outbreak continues to be on a down trend, thanks to the fruitful efforts of our Government, especially the Ministry of Health, our dear frontliners and cooperation from Malaysians in adhering to the SOPs and preventive measures put in place.

The RMCO introduces more lenient regulations which includes allowing interstate travel, operation of multiple business that were prohibited during the Movement Control Order (MCO), as well as allowance on certain recreational and sports activities. Nonetheless, these new regulations must still abide by the SOPs enforced by the authorities. Amongst others, large gatherings are still prohibited, and social distancing must still be practiced.

Malaysia is witnessing clearer skies after weeks of venturing through rough storms in battling COVID-19. Morale amongst the nation continue to rise as everyone is encouraged to continue adhering the 3Cs and 3Ws as advised by Ministry of Health:

3C’s:

Avoid Crowded places; Confined spaces; Close conversations

3W’s:

Wash hands frequently with water and soap; Wear facemasks in public areas or if symptomatic; Warn self and others of the following:

  • Avoid shaking hands or touching others
  • Practice good coughing and sneezing etiquette
  • Disinfect frequently touched surfaces
  • Stay at home
  • Seek treatment if symptomatic

We salute and thank our frontliners for all their effort and the commitment rendered in battling the COVID-19 outbreak! Over to us now Malaysians! Let’s keep adhering to the ‘New Normal’ and stay strong, stay vigilant, stay safe!
