Malaysian Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture, Datuk Mohamaddin bin Ketapi who is in Brunei Darussalam to attend the ASEAN Tourism Forum (ATF) 2020, launched the Malaysian Pavilion at the Travel Exchange (TRAVEX) exhibition yesterday.
Also in attendance were Malaysia’s Secretary-General of the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture (MOTAC) Datuk Dr Noor Zari Hamat, Director of Tourism Malaysia in Brunei Haji Ibrahim Seddiqi Talib and officials.
According to Tourism Malaysia Senior Deputy Director for ASEAN International Promotions Division Azlina Azni binti Zainal Abidin, “This year is Visit Malaysia 2020. We are here at TRAVEX to promote the many tourists’ destinations in Malaysia and to offer tourism packages to international buyers. We are here with a number of agencies like Malaysia Airlines as the national carrier and Malaysia Healthcare Travel Council to promote Malaysia Year of Healthcare Travel 2020 or MyHT2020.”
Malaysia is considered a healthcare destination marvel, being a successful world class healthcare provider within a short period and acknowledged by fellow industry peers and experts across the globe.
The country has been internationally recognised as the Best Country in the World for Healthcare from 2015 to 2019 by the United States (US)-based International Living magazine and Destination of the Year for healthcare travel by the United Kingdom (UK) based International Medical Travel Journal from 2015 to 2017 on the criteria of quality, accessibility and affordability.
Following the launch, Datuk Mohamaddin toured the Malaysian booths and mingled with the exhibitors.
